Inter-Depository Transfer of Shares

CDSL’s EASIEST facility allows the online transfer of shares to inter-depository Beneficial Owners. In an era of digital transactions and seamless technology, the facility is of immense help to the Beneficial Owners to transfer shares online through a hassle-free process.

However, CDSL’s E-DIS facility does not allow the online transfer of shares to NSDL Demat account holders. The same is otherwise carried out in physical form by providing DIS slips to the broker and only then initiating the share transfer process manually.

CDSL is thus suggested to even allow online transfer of shares to Demat account holders who hold shares under NSDL. The online share transfer facility to NSDL Demat account holders through CDSL’s EASIEST facility will benefit seamless online share transfers in a hassle-free manner. It will also avoid the hassles of approaching the brokers to otherwise physically transfer the shares by issuing DIS slips.
