The move to go paperless is much needed and a late move aimed at improving the productivity in the Parliament house. The move may help to emulate the currently followed paperless system in the other parliamentary bodies like the European Union, United Nations General Assembly, etc.

Further, the Hon’ble Ministry of Finance is suggested to promote its activities through extensive outreach programs across various social media channels and PIB News Website, thus depending less on the paper-based communication system. Lockdown in India has been extended to another two weeks to end on May 16. It is now imminent that normal services will be restored only in June as the pandemic has not ceded till now. The move to extend the lockdown while easing the restrictions in some green and orange zones seems to be a welcome reprieve. Also facilitating those stuck amidst the lockdown through movement of migrant labourers,students,tourists etc. will help the people to settle down quickly in their respective homes.

Further the government should meticulously plan lockdown exit strategy during this period in May. The exit strategy should be planned well to contain the spread of virus and restore normalcy in a quick and efficient manner while adhering to social distancing. Government should also communicate its plans much ahead of time and disseminate the same to its citizens in a timely manner.


Metro trains have an established grievance handling mechanism to submit complaints and feedback by the commuters. The system of filing a grievance through proper channel exists through a dedicated email id and a toll free number.
